When introduced to SimplyCircle’s CEO, we were faced with a two-part challenge. Our first task was to design and develop a tool that solved the numerous pain points hindering communication between parents and their children’s teachers and schools. Second, we had only 11 weeks to release a product to the public, and not just a limited pool of beta testers.

Firefield delivered on time, and parents, teachers, and schools have reaped the benefits ever since. We deployed a responsive web application to a demanding user base who access its functionality by mobile device more than 50% of the time – a true test for a non-native app.

Since the product’s launch, Firefield has stayed on as a technical partner, helping evolve SimplyCircle into a successful and rapidly growing venture that’s truly made parent communication easy.

When myEdGPS’s founder first sat down to lunch with Adam McGowan, he was in search of some advice. His current outsourced development shop wasn’t delivering on the vision he had for his product, and he wanted an outside opinion. It wasn’t long before myEdGPS decided to make a change – asking Firefield to become their new technological partner.

Less than four months later, beta testers had their first glance of an exciting new application – a workflow tool for families of children who struggle in school due to autism, ADHD, or other learning challenges. Since that initial release, myEdGPS has found a great deal of success: closing multiple rounds of investment, entering into a partnership with Bright Horizons, and delivering its product to a customer base that includes Fortune 500 companies.

Our challenge with myEdGPS has been to manage the needs of a varied and demanding set of stakeholders. As we have moved from design to testing to numerous public releases, our focus has ranged from user experience to data modeling to information security to infrastructure redundancy. We are proud to remain myEdGPS’s technology partner and look forward to continuing to help them grow.

Listen Current

Listen Current came to us to transform their initial product — a content rich Wordpress site — into a fully functional Ruby on Rails app that let them manage their content and users, as well as offer teachers and students robust features for creating, completing, and tracking assignments.

A freemium service, Listen Current puts new, powerful tools in the hands of teachers and students. With rich tools like audio transcripts, customizable assignments, worksheets, and more, Listen Current was named the 2014 winner of the Innovative Ed Tech Technology of the Year by the Mass Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) for bringing custom lesson plans to teachers, and was recognized by the Education Division of the Software Industry and Information Association (SIIA) as the new education technology business that’s the most likely to succeed.

Listen Current’s users, customers, content, accolades, and features continue to grow.
