DockYard provided services to get Tapology production ready. Amongst the responsibilities:

∗ Migrated from MySQL to Postgres
∗ Rebuilt and deployed production/staging servers (CentOS)
∗ Upgraded from beta version of Rails 3 to latest Rails (3.0.7 at the time)
∗ Migrated from DataMapper to ActiveRecord. (DataMapper is great but the client had their reason for wanting to migrate to ActiveRecord)
∗ Built out several features: awards, site-wide comments, and an invite system.
∗ Tutored the client on how to develop in Ruby on Rails to help make them self-profecient.
∗ Major scalability refactors. Rewrote the cacheing strategy and many queries to avoid N+1.
